Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid have sent their good wishes to Kate Garraway following her heartfelt interview on Good Morning Britain.
During the segment, aired last Friday, Kate opened up about her husband Derek Draper’s condition as he continues to battle coronavirus in hospital.
The former political lobbyist was put into an induced coma with the virus, nearly 10 weeks ago.
Kate confirmed he was virus-free, “but it’s wreaked extraordinary damage to his body,” she told the ITV show.

On Monday’s episode, Susanna sent her love to co-star and friend Kate, saying: Just before we get started on the protest, I think we both want to send our love to our colleague and friend Kate Garraway.
“We both watched her interview on Good Morning Britain on Friday, millions of you watched as well as she told you and us about her situation with Derek, it is absolutely heartbreaking for the family.”
She added: “When she did an interview in The Sun over the weekend as well, huge, huge love to Kate.”

“She is going through hell and there is hope still of course, but she said they were hoping for that miracle and we’re all hoping for that with her. So huge love to Kate this morning.”
In an interview with The Sun, published last week, the I’m A Celeb campmate admitted she feared her husband will be “locked in a coma forever”.
During the interview, Kate recalled a phone call with a doctor who updated her on Derek’s condition, confessing he “may never recover”.
Kate said: “It was late at night on a Friday and I remember exactly where I was sitting and what I was wearing. My first question, the one I always ask when the hospital call, was, ‘Is Derek still alive?’ and he said he was, but then asked me what my greatest fear was.
“I said, ‘Derek’s dying’ and he replied, ‘Well, now I think I have to give you a second worst-case scenario, which is that he never changes from this. That he is locked in this forever’.
“He said, ‘I’m not telling you this to scare you. It’s because we don’t know if he can recover. We’ll only know over the coming weeks and months’.”
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV
