Piers Morgan shares coronavirus post saying it was 'created by women'

Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan has shared a joke coronavirus post on Instagram, attributing the creation of the bug to women.

In the post, which its original creator labelled as a “public service announcement”, it lists everything that apparently proves that COVID-19 has “been created by women”.

The post reads: “Think about it lads. No sports. All pubs to shut. 14 days quarantine (so you can finally get those odd jobs done). Symptoms of corona are flu-like… they know that’s our kryptonite. They even had the audacity to name it after a beer.”

It finished: “Share this far and wide lads before they (women) take it down.”

And it seems Piers was more than happy to follow the instructions, sharing it with his 908,000 Instagram followers.

He captioned the cheeky image: “Makes perfect sense…”

His female followers were quick to reply, with some joking along and others rubbishing the claims.

One said: “Oops. We’ve been busted ladies.”

Another commented: “Rubbish, I’m a female and a big fan of the sesh!”

A third wrote: “I love this, if only we had!”

While someone else added: “Not by me [laughing emoji] What am I going to do with all this spare time?”

Luckily, for once, Piers didn’t seem to upset many people with the post, with the vast majority of commenters leaving laughing emojis.

And even one man threw doubt on the post, by pointing out: “I did think this but they’ve shot themselves in the foot a bit, because Mothers’ Day is ruined.”

Piers has been at work as usual this week, while Good Morning Britain co-host Susanna Reid went into self-isolation after her son developed a cough.

She reassured viewers that she was fine though, and has appeared on GMB via video link to join in on the action.

Today, Piers and stand-in host Ranvir Singh were forced to sit further apart than usual to keep in line with guidelines from the government.
