It wasn’t always champagne and caviar for the world’s biggest celebrities, with some of them having to undertake some quite unusual jobs to make ends meet before the bright lights of Hollywood beckoned.
From porn set dressers to lion tamers, Hollywood stars have had to undertake some very unique jobs.
Daily Star Online has taken a look back at some of the Hollywood elite’s most jaw-dropping professions ahead of them hitting the big time.
Jon Hamm – Porn set dresser

Jon Hamm, who has enjoyed a glittering Hollywood career thus far, with breakout roles in much-loved TV show Mad Men and BAFTA award-winning film Baby Driver, had a very interesting job ahead of becoming a mega celeb.
The 48-year-old Missouri-born star used to work on soft-core porn sets.
Hamm used to do set dressing for porn films, ahead of catching his big break.
The actor described the task as boring and soul-crushing and not in the least bit titillating.
Matthew McConaughey – Armadillo murderer
50-year-old Oscar-winning actor Matthew McConaughey had a very random job ahead of entering into the world of acting.
The Dallas Buyers Club actor used to be an armadillo murderer.
Matthew’s first job was at the Oak Forest Country Club in Longview, Texas.
He was paid to rake the sand traps on the golf course, and he later had to shoot the armadillos, who were eating the grass on the grounds.
Naya Rivera – Hooters waitress

Before she was catapulted to international superstardom as the “bad a**’ cheerleader in hit musical TV series Glee, Naya Rivera worked at world-famous American restaurant, Hooters.
The restaurant, which is known for its stunning waitresses, had the talented singer/actress as part of their front of house team.
Naya, 33, described the experience as a “nightmare” and that she felt “very self-conscious” back then, in an interview with Allure magazine.
Miley Cyrus – Picked up bras and pants thrown at her dad

Before she became one of the world’s biggest popstars, Miley was in the shadow of her country singing dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, 58.
Miley, 27, revealed in a previous interview with Rolling Stone magazine that she was was paid to pick up the undies that were thrown onstage for her dad by adoring fans.
In an interview with Rolling Stone in 2013, Miley recalled: “I’d get a really big one and be like, ‘Dad! I found your biggest fan!”
Miley said the bra and pants collecting would earn her ten dollars in pocket money.
Meghan Markle – Wrote wedding invitations

Before Meghan Markle was an adored actress in Suits and way before she tied the knot with Harry, Prince of Wales, Meghan made her dough by writing celebrity wedding invitations.
The 38-year-old said in an interview with Esquire magazine she worked as a freelance calligraphy writer in Los Angeles while struggling to get by as an actress.
Markle’s calligraphy skills were adored by the Hollywood elite, and she even wrote the invites for former celebrity couple Robin Thicke and Paula Patton, who tied the knot in 2005.
“I just thought Meghan did a beautiful job,” Patton previously told Town & Country.
Christopher Walken – Lion tamer

Iconic Hollywood actor Christopher Walken, who is known for his roles in films such as Pulp Fiction to Man On Fire, had a job, which involved performing ahead of breaking his way into the showbiz circuit.
At the age of 16, Walken, now 76, worked as a lion tamer in a circus.
The head tamer Terrel Jacobs choreographed an elaborate act in which Christopher played his son.
Walken and Jacob would perform in matching outfits, surrounded by dozens of lions.
Channing Tatum – Stripper

With Hollywood heartthrob Channing Tatum, it was a case of life imitating art (or art imitating life more precisely).
The 39-year-old 21 Jump Street star is best known for his role in Magic Mike, where he played a stripper.
In real life, ahead of taking Hollywood by storm, Channing worked as a stripper at a local nightclub under the name “Chan Crawford”.
So popular was the Magic Mike film franchise, that Jessie J’s other half has brought it to the stage with Magic Mike Live, a red-hot dance spectacular.
Johnny Depp – Pen salesman

Undoubtedly one of the most famous actors in Hollywood, Johnny Depp 56, who is always offered the most sought after tickets to the hottest events in town, didn’t always have a glamorous life.
The Pirates of the Caribbean star used to work as a ball-point salesman.
He took up the job to support his then-wife Lori Anne Allison.
