Rapper Fred the Godson dies age 35 from coronavirus

Rapper Fred the Godson has died at the age of 35 from coronavirus.

It has been reported by Complex that the Bronx star has died from the deadly virus, which has seen the globe go into lockdown as the death tolls rise around the world.

In 2010, he made his breakthrough with the Armageddon mixtape, which featured guest spots from Busta Rhymes, Cam’ron, Waka Flocka Flame, Styles P, and others.

Fred went on to be named to XXL’s 2011 Freshman Class, which also featured Kendrick Lamar, Mac Miller, Lil B, Meek Mill, Big K.R.I.T., and YG.

In a 2016 Breakfast Club interview, Fred said: “I call that the all-star game.

“You work through the year and you just keep going, and they just call you out for your individual accolades.

“The top 11 met up, and that was just crazy to me. That’s the biggest thing thus far to happen to Fred the Godson.”

After his breakthrough in 2011, Fred released the Ganga Grillz mixtape City of God, featuring PUSHA-T, Diddy, Meek Mill, Vado, and more.

Following his death, tributes have flooded in, including from pal and fellow rapper Fat Joe.

Taking to his official Instagram account, Fat Joe paid tribute to his “little brother”.

He wrote to his 3.3million followers: “My little brother ooooh how sad am I, I prayed and prayed and prayed for you all night long.

“So many dreams so many conversations so many great times we had. I am in shock to say the least I love you soooooooo much little brother it’s been years since I felt this pain.

“I always wanted the best for you, I played you all my important songs to get your feed back I respect you so much as an artist.

“Why the GOOD die young I was soooooooo proud of you little brother. Maybe now the world will pay attention to your greatness you was always my favourite.

“God have mercy on his soul for he was a good man, a family man as loyal as they come.

“I pray that you with PUN and the fellas tell them we gave hell out here in the world.

“God bless your wife your family your kids and my brother Arsonist I know Fred loves you and to the whole Hip Hop community we lost an incredible talent one of the last Mohegans.”
