Rita Ora and Little Mix are said to be in talks to headline a string of ‘drive in’ shows up and down the UK this summer in a much needed boost to the UK economy.
The gigs, which are being promoted by touring giant Live Nation, will be a welcome opportunity to see live music in the sunshine after all festivals and gigs were axed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
The events will be called Called Utilita Live From The Drive-In due to the fact energy giant Utilita are sponsoring them.
According to The Sun, 12 locations have been picked out to host gigs including Cheltenham Racecourse, Leeds East Airport and Newmarket Racecourse.
While Rita and Little Mix are yet to sign on the dotted line, a host of singers and bands have already agreed to the gigs.

There will be gigs from The Streets, Spandau Ballet’s Tony Hadley, Beverley Knight, DJ Sigala and singer Russell Watson are all on the cusp of being announced.
Meanwhile, Gary Numan is also on board.
The Cars singer said: “This is such a unique and innovative idea — and crucially it’s exactly what the music business needs right now.
“For most musicians live performances are a big portion of your income. For me it’s about two thirds.

“And unless you’re Ed Sheeran, which I’m not, performers don’t rely on record sales and streams any more.”
The chart-topper added: “It’s musicians, road crew, catering, lorry drivers, lighting experts, tour managers — and every one of those people has been left without work in the last few months.
“As well as the business reasons, live music can be a vital boost for British music fans — and I just hope the whole industry gets behind this project. I think these gigs will be an amazing experience.”

Earlier this year Little Mix were forced to scrap their whole summer tour due to Covid-19.
Meanwhile, Rita’s planned festival gigs across the UK and Europe were also canned to the pandemic.
