Strictly Kevin Clifton coronavirus fears as he talks symptoms including 'fever'

Strictly Come Dancing hunk Kevin Clifton has shared his belief that he contacted coronavirus at the start of the year after coming down with a “really heavy flu and fever”.

The dancing ace, who recently quit the hit BBC One series, explained how he became severely ill shortly after the new year kicked in.

Kevin, 37, said: “I remember in January I was really ill, just before I started rehearsals for The Wedding Singer, the musical.

“I was really ill and then going into rehearsals I remember having really heavy flu.

“I kept coughing all the time and I had a fever and they are some of the things they are talking about with coronavirus.”

The star added despite thinking he has already been through the worst of it, he is following the government’s advice to self-isolate and remain inside as much as possible.

“I am staying indoors and only going out for essentials like everyone else,” he continued to The Sun.

Kevin added: “We are at a big threat at the moment with this. I am alright.

“I think it is the best thing to staying anyway at the moment as that is the best way we are going to help.

“Although I slightly wonder if I might have already had it at some point.

“I think there are a lot of people wondering if they have had Coronavirus or not. Because we don’t know. Some of us show milder symptoms.”

On Monday evening, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson effectively put the UK into lockdown in a bid to curb the spread of the virus.

He called on the whole of the United Kingdom to remain in doors as much as possible and only leave to go outside for emergency reasons – such as collecting prescriptions or food.

He added that the government permits one hour of exercise per day outside of the home, though this must be conducted inline with the social distancing protocol.

Anyone outdoors is asked to remain one meter away from anyone else.

At the time of publication, there are currently 8,077 cases of coronavirus in the UK.

Sadly there have been 422 deaths across the United Kingdom.
