Strictly's Brendan Cole stuck in Spain with family amid coronavirus outbreak

Strictly Come Dancing star Brendan Cole is stuck in Spain during the coronavirus outbreak, spending the lockdown with his family in their holiday home.

The 43-year-old professional dancer is usually based in the UK, but was spending time in his Mallorcan villa when the lockdown requirements were put in place.

For the past three weeks, Brendan has been cooped up at home in Spain, along with his wife Zoe, daughter Aurelia, seven, and son Dante, two.

Brendan has been spending the quarantine period cooking outdoors, even sharing videos of his culinary efforts with his fans over Instagram.

Determined to make the most of the family time in isolation, Zoe insisted she hoped for it to be “a happy time” rather than “traumatic” for their children.

Lifestyle blogger Zoe, 37, opened up about the experience over social media, making it clear she was grateful to spend time in their garden.

She explained: “Today we’re happy as the sun came out for the first time in over a week! Here in Spain, they’ve just announced further lockdown until 26th April. Day before my birthday!

“I honestly believe it’s the right thing to do though and although it’s hard we will get through it (with the help of sunshine and wine!).

“We may hear in the next couple of days however that we are allowed out once a day to exercise like the UK. I think this would be music to everyone’s ears especially the children who haven’t been outside our gates for three weeks.

“Thank goodness for our garden.”

Speaking about their little ones, she added: “They’ve been amazing and I really hope they can remember this as a happy time when it’s all over and not a traumatic one. Hope you are all keeping well. Sending love and light.”

Spain is one of the worst-hit countries following the spread of the coronavirus, with 11,744 deaths from Covid-19 as of Sunday evening.

Thankfully, the death toll has been falling for three days in a row, with lockdown measures helping to save lives.

Government officials have extended the lockdown period and are trying to access face masks for citizens in further efforts to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
