With two Strictly Come Dancing professionals previously announcing they’ve departed the show in order to focus on other projects, a former star has revealed she’d love to appear on the famous dancefloor once again.
Kristina Rihanoff admitted she would like to step in following Kevin Clifton and AJ Pritchard’s shock exit, five years after she left the series to raise a family.
Not wanting to conform to the current format, she would hope to feature in the dancing competition’s first same-sex partnership.
She confessed her return is “way overdue” and would love to partner with a particular singing sensation.

“I would come back for that. To be involved in that would be very special.
“It’s way overdue. The pros have been saying this for a long time,” the 42-year-old told The Sun.
“I teach men, women and gay couples all the time for things like weddings. I don’t see anything different in it, it would be great.

“And I would never say no to Strictly. I left on great terms.”
Kristina already has her eye on a female celebrity partner, explaining: “It would be Nicole Scherzinger. She’s an incredible dancer and musician, so she’d be amazing feeling the music. She’s very good looking too.”
The dancer departed the show in order to start a family with her partner Ben Cohen, who she had danced with two years beforehand on the series, but expressed concern over AJ and Kevin’s exit.

“People are delusional if they think they’re going to leave the show and maintain that level of exposure. It won’t be there. Strictly gave all of us fantastic platforms to carry on and show what we can do. But life after Strictly is very different,” she continued.
While she understood Kevin’s reasons for leaving, she wasn’t sure why AJ decided to quit, after only competing in four series.
Kristina said: “Kevin has been there a long time. He won the show, was always successful and I think he has a very strong fanbase. He has other avenues to explore because he sings and acts. I get that decision.
“With AJ, I was surprised to see him go. Unless he has another big contract in his pocket you have to ask why. It sounds a bit of a risk.”
