The Pretty Things lead singer Phil May has died aged 75.
Phil’s family have confirmed that the star died after suffering a fall from his bike.
A statement from the family read: “Phil May passed away at 7.05am on Friday 15 May at the Queen Elizabeth hospital, Kings Lynn, Norfolk. He was 75.
“He had been locked down in Norfolk with his family and, during the week Phil had suffered a fall from his bike and had undergone emergency hip surgery, after which complications set in.”
It adds: “Phil had been in poor health for some time when the Pretty Things played their last live concert, ‘The Final Bow’, on 13 December 2018 at the Indigo, O2 where they were joined onstage by old friends David Gilmour and Van Morrison.”

Phil, who was born on November 9, 1944 in Dartford, Kent, was the lead singer of Pretty Things, of which he was a founding member.
The star rose to fame with the R’n’B group in the 1960s, at first in the early part of the decade they were all about the R’n’B tunes before become a psychedelic band.
While, the British band did not fine fame in the US like other British bands of their time, they became a big hit in European countries and New Zealand.

Phil and his bandmates also became well-known for being open about their their wild antics and even doing them on stage.
The band often sang lyrics about drug taking – with their behaviour becoming so controversial that on one tour that they were banned from New Zealand by the country’s Parliament.
The band were arguably big influences on artists such as David Bowie, Aerosmith, The Ramones, Bob Dylan, The Sex Pistols, The White Stripes, Kasabian, The Lightning Seeds and more.
And ever since they found fame they have continued to release top-notch songs, right up to the present day.

Prior to Phil’s death, the band even have a new album due for release this year.
According to the star’s representatives, he had been in “poor health for some time” when the Pretty Things played their last live concert, The Final Bow, back in December.
They were joined onstage by old friends David Gilmour and Van Morrison.
The iconic singer leaves behind his son, Paris, his daughter, Sorrel and his partner, Colin Graham.
