UB40 frontman Duncan Campbell is on the road to recovery after suffering a stroke.
The 62-year-old hitmaker, who replaced his brother Ali as lead singer of the reggae group after a bitter row in 2008, is in hospital but is “up and about” and doing well.
A spokesman for the band said: “We can confirm that lead singer Duncan Campbell was taken to hospital after suffering a stroke.
“While we can report that he is already up and about, we ask fans to respect Duncan and the family’s privacy as he works his way to a speedy recovery.

It comes after the band, best known for hits including Red Red Wine, announced last week that their December UK tour dates were being moved to March next year because of the coronavirus pandemic.
UB40 have scored more than 40 top 40 songs in the UK and are recognised as one of the country’s most successful bands.
It was reported that UB40 brothers Robin and Duncan Campbell opened their hearts about the bitter family rift with their sibling and former lead singer Ali.
His decision to quit the band in 2008 to pursue a solo career led to Robin inviting Duncan to replace him.
In 2018, UB40 played a secret gig at Kings Heath’s Hare & Hounds where it all began after their first gig there on February 9, 1979.
