Vicky Pattison admitted she was left fearing for her mother’s life earlier this year when she discovered she had tested positive for coronavirus.
The 32-year-old opened up about her mum’s symptoms, which appeared after a trip through Hong Kong, Singapore and New York.
Discussing the ordeal in an interview with The Sun, the Geordie Shore star revealed her mum was left struggling to breathe.
Vicky said: “She was taken ill coming back from New York, exhibiting signs of Covid-19 in February.
“She said to me, ‘Honestly, I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy, it’s not just a flu’.”

Thankfully Caroll managed to overcome the infection, however, she still experiences exhaustion and shortness of breath.
Vicky went on: “She’s still feeling exhausted and has a lot of difficulty breathing. I didn’t know what to do.
“To hear her struggling and so weak, not being able to comfort her was the most difficult thing.”

She added: “I felt helpless. I was terrified for her.
“It’s such an evil disease that when someone gets it you can’t give them comfort, care and love. She is now feeling a lot better.”
Thanking NHS staff for their hard work throughout the coronavirus pandemic, Vicky urged the public to stay indoors and respect the government’s guidelines.

The former I’m A Celeb star is currently isolating apart from mum Caroll, cooped up in her shared home with her longterm boyfriend Ercan Ramadan.
Praising his company over Instagram, Vicky shared a sweet couple’s selfie today, saying: “Sometimes you need bad days because it helps you truly appreciate the good ones…”
Once the lockdown restrictions are lifted, Vicky looks forward to wrapping her beloved mum in a hug.
