Halloween, released in 1978, became one of the most iconic horror films and spawned a franchise of 11 titles.
A remake was released in 2007, before a sequel which disregarded the happenings of the other films in the franchise came out in 2018.
Next year, that film will get a sequel, Halloween Kills, and in 2022 another, Halloween Ends, will be released.
But what happened to the stars of the original movie, which grossed $70million (£5.4m) at box office?
Some have gone on to further their star power, while others’ profiles didn’t rise as much.
And as we approach spooky season – Halloween is on Saturday – Daily Star Online decided to take a trip down memory lane.
Donald Pleasence played Dr Sam Loomis

English actor Donald Pleasence became widely recognised for playing psychiatrist Dr Samuel Loomis in Halloween, as well as four of its sequels.
His career enjoyed a revival afterwards with him continuing to work until his death – though he had a number of posthumous releases and will even appear in next year’s Halloween Kills.
Donald tragically died at the age of 75 in 1995 in France from complications of heart failure after he had heart valve replacement surgery.

He left behind five daughters – Angela, Jean, Lucy, Polly and Miranda – as well as his fourth wife Linda Kentwood.
Acting was clearly in Donald’s blood, as daughter Angela stepped into the industry and has appeared in the likes of Doctor Who, A Christmas Carol, Gangs of New York, Agatha Christie’s Poirot and Whitechapel.
After Donald died, three more films were released in which he starred – Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers, Safe Haven and Fatal Frames.
Next year, he will appear in Halloween Kills through archival footage as well as CGI.
Jamie Lee Curtis played Laurie Strode
(Image: Daily Record)
Jamie Lee Curtis, just 19 when Halloween was released, is perhaps the best known star from the movie and is still active in Hollywood now.
The 61-year-old has had an admittedly difficult journey though, as she is a recovering alcoholic and was previously addicted to painkillers that she started on after a cosmetic surgical procedure.
In 1999, she got clean from opiates after she read Professor Tom Chiarella’s story of his own addiction.
The actress says recovery was her greatest achievement in life – though she has many.

Jamie has won countless awards, including a BAFTA, multiple Golden Globes and a People’s Choice Award among others.
In Halloween, her first film credit, she played Laurie Strode and appeared in five of its sequels, including the 2018 remake, of which she was also an executive producer. She will also produce next year’s release, as well as star in it.
However she has kept her face in the limelight ever since 1978, going on to star in the likes of A Fish Called Wanda, Freaky Friday alongside Lindsay Lohan, and television shows such as NCIS, New Girl and as lead role Cathy Munsch in Scream Queens.
Tony Moran played unmasked Michael Myers
In the original Halloween movie, horror villain Michael Myers was played by a number of people, with Nick Castle credited as the main star.
However struggling actor Tony Moran played the unmasked version, landing the role while working a job on Hollywood and Vine dressed up as Frankenstein.
He was paid just $250 (£192) for his appearance and did not appear in any of the sequels – apart from in the recap of the first film in Halloween II, which he was also paid for.

Tony quit acting when he was aged 30 and became a mortgage broker instead.
However he has since made a few more film appearances, with his most recent being 2018’s Death House.
The 63-year-old isn’t the only actor in his family though as his sister Erin, who died aged 56 in 2017, played Joanie Cunningham in the US sitcom Happy Days.
Kyle Richards played Lindsey Wallace

Kyle Richards was just nine years old when Halloween was released and, like her older sister Kim, continued down the child actress route before continuing into her adult life.
Throughout her acting career, Kyle appeared in releases such as Beverly Hills, 90210, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and parody movie The Hungover Games.
She will also appear in next year’s Halloween Kills.

However, nowadays, the 51-year-old is better known as a reality star, having been a member of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast since it started in 2010.
Kyle is married to real estate agent Mauricio Umansky and they have three daughters together, though Kyle also has a fourth daughter from a previous relationship.
Showbusiness really runs through Kyle’s family as sister Kim is also an actress and appeared alongside her on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
Meanwhile, her half-sister Kathy married into the Hilton family and is Paris Hilton’s mother.
Paris – who is widely thought of as the first true reality star and influencer – has appeared in RHOBH with Kyle, while Kyle appeared in Paris’ show The Simple Life too.
Kyle reportedly earns $270,000 (£207,000) per season of The Real Housewives, and she has an estimated net worth of between $50m (£34m) and $100m (£77m).
Charles Cyphers played Sheriff Leigh Brackett
(Image: MIRAMAX)
Charles Cyphers, 81, is a big name in the horror movie community, most notably for his role of Sheriff Leigh Brackett in Halloween.
He reprised his role in Halloween II and will also appear in next year’s Halloween Kills.
Away from the horror genre, Charles has starred in a number of made-for-TV movies, as well as series including ER and Seinfeld.

He has also starred in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the television series version of 21 Jump Street and The Dukes of Hazzard series in a few different roles.
From 2007, Charles stopped acting – but who can blame him at 68 years old?.
But he is stepping back in front of the camera for Halloween Kills, though with his character being older now, he will not play a sheriff.
Peter Griffith played Morgan Strode
(Image: MIRAMAX)
Peter Griffith began working as a child actor before eventually landing Halloween, in which he played Mr Strode – Jamie Lee Curtis’ character’s father.
According to IMDB, though, Halloween was his only screen role.
He sadly died at the age of 67 in 2001 from complications from emphysema.
However his legacy well and truly lives on, as his daughters Melanie Griffith and Tracy Griffith became actresses, as did his granddaughter Dakota Johnson.

Dakota, 31, is a big name in Hollywood nowadays, best known for playing Anastasia Steele in the Fifty Shades film series.
She has dipped her toes into horror, like her grandfather, in the 2018 film Suspiria and 2019’s The Peanut Butter Falcon.
The actress is dating Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, and they have been together since 2017.
This year, she appeared in the British band’s music video for the song Cry Cry Cry.
