A Place In The Sun’s Jasmine Harman has been in Lanzarote trying to find Angela and Steve from Leicestershire the perfect villa – and it wasn’t easy.
In today’s episode of the Channel 4 show (March 24) Jasmine struggled to find exactly what the lovebirds, who met aged five and started dating in their teens, exactly what they wanted for a £225,000 budget.
The first property seemed to impress them both but after that, they seemed to find faults with almost every villa, including dissatisfaction with the parking.
The third property, valued at €249,000 (£215,000), was a three-bedroom semi-detached villa for sale in the Marina Rubicon area of Playa Blanca.
It had a fully fitted kitchen, a utility room, a dining room with terrace access, a private pool, three bedrooms, and an en-suite attached to the master bedroom – but it failed to impress Angela and Steve.
There was no road adjacent to the villa and so it had to be accessed on foot and Steve, in particular, took issue with this and felt “hemmed in”.
Jasmine says: “There are lots of things about this property that I thought would really appeal to you but obviously the overriding sense here is that it’s fallen a bit flat really.”
“It doesn’t inspire me quite like it ought to,” agreed Steve.
Disappointed, Jasmine says: “It’s fair to say this semi-detached house with a communal pool has been an utter flop.
“They felt hemmed in and let’s not even mention the parking.”

Steve also didn’t like the parking at other properties, but thankfully all was not lost because he and Angela did make an offer on the first villa of £200,000.
The two-bedroom property was more traditional with its architecture and fully detached, offering a lot more privacy.
It had a living room with a cathedral roof, a newly fitted kitchen, a covered patio, two large bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a large terrace.
