A Place in the Sun guests called 'time-wasters' after saying they need more time

A Place in the Sun viewers have branded a house-hunting couple as “time-wasting” when they told presenter Jasmine Harman they needed to “do more research”.

Steve and Jane appeared on the Channel 4 show and looked to buy their first house in Tenerife, Spain, with a £200,000 budget.

The couple were looking for a house with a garden, traditional looks and space for a studio for Steve.

After viewing five properties, host Jasmine had the impression that Steve and Jane had bagged themselves a contender.

The next day, Jasmine asked whether they would like to put down an offer on a townhouse in La Laguna.

Steve said: “I think it’s on the backburner really.”

Jane explained: “We did like that one, we could see a lot of potential. It’s a huge amount of space but it was really at the top of our budget.

“We would need to think about ripping out walls and putting in a different kitchen.”

Steve quickly weighed in: “We’re not ready for a big project.”

Jasmine took in the feedback and replied: “To be honest, I realised that there were a lot of compromises.

“So it is so disappointing for me to not be able to find you that perfect place.”

Viewers were fuming over the couple’s reasons and called them “time-wasters”.

Another wrote: “You’re spot on. I hate to see time wasters.”

Some asked the production team to look for genuine house hunters on the programme.
