Alec Baldwin cries as he claims he 'didn't pull trigger' of gun that killed crew member

Alec Baldwin has cried in a new TV interview in which he claims he “didn’t pull the trigger” when he fatally shot a cinematographer on set of his own movie.

Halyna Hutchins, 42, was killed on the set of Rust when a gun was fired by producer and actor Baldwin, which was thought by crew to be filled with blanks.

Immediately after the incident he is said to have repeatedly asked why he had been given a “hot gun”, and was heard exclaiming “in all my years, I’ve never been handed a hot gun.”

The term “hot gun” refers to one loaded with real ammunition.

And now in a trailer for an exclusive interview with Good Morning America’s George Stephanopoulos, Baldwin can be seen blubbing as he says: “She was someone who was loved by everyone who worked with her, liked by everyone she worked with and admired.

“Even now, I find it hard to believe that… it just doesn’t seem real to me.

“I did not pull the trigger. No, no, no, no, no, I would never point a gun at anyone and pull a trigger at them.

He adds: “Someone put a live bullet in a gun, a gun that wasn’t even supposed to be on the property,”

The US morning TV presenter then asks: “Is this the worst thing that’s ever happened to you” to which Baldwin responds: “Yes. Because I think back and I think what could I have done.”

A crew member on the set of Rust has also been taken to hospital after being bitten by a spider while doctors fight to “save his arm” from amputation.

On the set of Alec Baldwin’ s film Rust, Jason Miller, a lamp operator and pipe rigger, was on the set as production was winding down after the fatal shooting of Halyna Hutchins.

As he was supporting the rest of the crew in taking down the set, based in New Mexico, he was bitten by a venomous brown recluse spider and started to experience severe symptoms including sepsis and necrosis.

A JustGiving page was set up for the crew member after he was bitten by the North American native spider which explained that he started experiencing symptoms within days of the bite.
