Ant McPartlin and Anne-Marie Corbett got married on Saturday and the day went down without a hitch and Ant’s personal speech went down with a bang.
The I’m a Celeb star reportedly kicked off his speech with a joke about his past struggles saying: “Hi I’m Ant & I’m an alcoholic.”
Half of the UK’s favourite presenting double-act came under fire during 2018 after his drink-driving charge.
Ant, 45, was fined £86k for the crime and was banned from driving after allegedly smashed into two other cars when he wound up on the wrong side of the road.
The Saturday Night Takeaway presenter got emotional during the speech and “struggled to hold it together” when his stunning bride walked down the aisle.
Ant told guests: “When Anne-Marie walked into the church, I had to fight to hold it together as she looked so beautiful.”
He described Anne-Marie as his “rock” while he battled a prescription drug problem following complications with his knee surgery.
His new wife also supported him during his rehab stints after being convicted of drink-driving.
Anne-Marie entered St Michael’s Church wearing a £15,000 Suzanne Neville gown and holding a bouquet of white and purple roses with a small picture of her late father attached.
Her two teenage daughters, from her previous marriage to ex-husband Scott Corbett, performed poetic readings and Ant’s best pal Dec Donnelly spoke of how Ant was the “best friend a man could have”.
The newlyweds later shared their first dance to a Coldplay medley, while their three-tiered cake featured their adorable pet dogs.
Performance-wise, they went for an Abba tribute act Bjorn Again along with barbershop quartet The Herringbone Cocktail Club.
The VIP guest list included stars such as Cat Deeley, David Walliams, Alesha Dixon, Frank and Christine Lampard, Phillip Schofield and Stephen Mulhern.
Though one of their TV pals was surprisingly not in attendance as Holly Willoughby, failed to turn up but was among the first to congratulate the newlyweds on social media.
Geordie lad Ant reportedly treated his attendees to an ultra-lavish spa day on Sunday at the Heckfield Place hotel, having already spent a whopping £100,000 on accommodation for his 100 guests.
As part of their spa package, Ant splashed the cash again reportedly paying for not only their room service, £180 massages at 90 minutes each, and £100 manicures and pedicures.
