Ant Middleton says he's 'too hot to handle for the UK' after SAS Channel 4 axe

Ant Middleton has said he was ‘too hot to handle’ for the UK after jetting to Down Under.

The hard man made the comments on Australian radio while talking about his decision to cut ties with Channel 4 and SAS: Who Dares Wins.

Ant joked: “I’m too hot to handle for the UK.

“With the UK version, once that final string pinged from my grasp and it was being controlled by health and safety, and it’s being controlled by the production, then yeah we butted heads a bit and we parted ways a bit sourly.

“But listen, it’s all good. It is what it is.”

While Channel 4 haven’t denied health and safety was a concern, they claim concerns were raised about Ant’s conduct.

The Mirror allege that Ant made ‘lewd and suggestive comments’ but Ant has brushed off the claims as military banter’.

Insisting he would still love to continue the show in Aus, Ant continued: “Channel Seven straight away were like, ‘We really hope you’re coming back to Australia,’ and I said, ‘Of course I am. Listen, I built this show’.

“I wrote it on the back of a cigarette packet six, seven years ago. So I am coming back. I am still the chief instructor.’

“I do my part, I let the production do their part, I let the channel do their part. Everyone sings from the same song sheet and we get the job done.”

The former solider, who has recently starred in his own Sky One breakaway shows with Liam Payne and Rebel Wilson, appeared on Good Morning Britain earlier this year to address speculation about why he had left SAS: Who Dares Wins.

Ant said: “If you’re a snowflake you don’t belong on the SAS set – this isn’t Dancing On Ice.”

“It is just smoke and mirrors and Channel 4 getting in there first [with their statement].

“They wanted to protect the brand. From day one we had a great relationship with Chanel 4.

“We said to them let us be ourselves, our humour is different, our build is different.

“It allowed us to be ourselves and to give an authentic show.”

Going into detail about how the show changed behind the scenes, Ant added: “It became a scripted show. Control was taken from me.

“Over the years the PC patrol and woke patrol have kicked in to the point you can’t say anything.

“We can’t even act on the ground without them stepping in.

“We weren’t able to put someone in water at shoulder level… now has to be at waist height.”
