Ashley Cain’s daughter Azaylia has died after she was given just days to live after tumours were discovered all over her body after a battle with leukaemia.
Ashley shared the heartbreaking news on his social media in an emotional post.
He shared a snap of himself cradling baby Azaylia alongside a touching tribute.
Ashley penned: “Rest In Paradise Princess.
“I will always hold you in my heart until I can hold you again in heaven.”
The Ex On The Beach star campaigned tirelessly to get his eight-month-old daughter the specialist treatment that she needed.
In the hope of saving Azaylia’s life, a Go Fund Me page was set up for her to try and raise the funds to send her to Singapore for a potentially life-saving transplant.
The page aimed to raise £1 million but gestures of kindness kept pouring in with the amount surpassing £1.5m.
Azaylia’s heartbreaking story as she continued to fight the disease at such a young age touched hundreds of people who offered up generous donations.
It seemed that there was still hope to save her life until doctors delivered earth-shattering news that turned Ashley and girlfriend Safiyya’s world upside down.
Consultants had found tumours all over her body meaning that Azaylia would be unable to fly to Singapore to fulfil her treatment.
Addressing his followers from outside the hospital, he delivered the harrowing news.
He said: “So last week we had the bone marrow test and the lumber puncture and bloods taken to send to Singapore in the hope that they could create therapy to save Azaylia’s life.
“Then we had to have a CT scan on her head and the results came back the next day, saying that Azaylia’s got two very big tumours on her brain.
“They also said that the treatment that is usually given to treat leukaemia in the spine or the brain will not be available because she has too much pressure with these tumours.
“And if they tried to even go through the spinal tap it would kill her. At that point, obviously, our world came down.”
He continued: “The current chemotherapy that we were doing was for her blood, not the tumours in her brain.
“Consultants said that they think she’s only got one, two days to live, it could even be that night. So, we took Azaylia home with the palliative care team.
“She was on high levels of pain relief but it was tough. We got through the first night, we got through the second night but we noticed that Azaylia wasn’t really here properly.
“We took her off the pain relief and the next morning she was as bright as a button, she had her sharpness back, she was responding to everything.
“And we thought ‘this disease is not killing our daughter’ and so we rang up the consultants and said ‘we’re getting to Singapore’.
He devastatingly signed off: “For the last part of her life I just want to take her home. See her like a baby and give her the best rest of her life ever.”
