BBC's Mrs Brown's Boys viewers 'switch off' as fans were unimpressed over 'unfunny' show

Some viewers of BBC’sMrs Brown’s Boys were certainly unimpressed as the British broadcaster opted to air the legendary programme again for Christmas.

The BBC was already receiving some backlash for their Christmas schedule that some believed was filled to the rim with repeats.

But when it came to the popular Irish comedy that usually airs on BBC One during the festive season, some spectators felt it was time to give the show a “solid pass”.

Taking to Twitter, disgruntled viewers aired their thoughts.

One person wrote: “Giving #MrsBrownsBoys a solid pass. Used to laugh the moment it started but nah as the years gone on it’s become less and less funny. Shame really.”

Another said: “Why the f**k is Mrs Browns Boys still getting shown at Christmas 100% unfunny even worse than that we have to endure the not funny Irish Granny until 2026.”

A third angry viewer commented: “Honestly, how the hell does Mrs Browns boys still get aired! Fr Dick Byrne is fuming!”

But some were very happy to see their favourite granny back on their screens during the festive period.

Although Mrs Brown’s Boys has been shown several Christmases in a row, the episode it self was very new as the characters discussed coronavirus and vaccinations in the episode.

Discussing the political message that was discussed in the show, some fans believed it reflected the currnet times that we are living in.

Taking to Twitter again, one fan penned: “In-laws watching #mrsbrownsboys it was pro mask, pro-vaccine, pro looking after each other. Comparing this to fox news there could be a lot worse shows for our parents to be watching.”

Another also said: “Just seen #mrsbrownsboys another great episode, I liked the story and some poignant messages for the times we live in once again. Looking forward to the next one.”
