Big Brother star Nikki Grahame's mum 'never seen her so bad' in anorexia battle

Big Brother star Nikki Grahame’s mum has revealed her daughter’s anorexia hell.

She said the reality telly star, 38, has checked into a facility for life-saving help.

Sue, 66, said her daughter has battled the condition throughout the past 30 years but the lockdown has made it worse.

She said: “We’ve been on this road a long time, 30 years on and off, and I’ve never seen her this bad.

“I’m frightened that I’ll die and she’ll have no one to support her. I don’t want her to go through any of this alone.

“While there’s breath in my body, and while Nikki is struggling, I don’t know how to do anything else other than help her.”

The mum, from Dorset, added: “I feel slightly more hopeful because it’s not people forcing you to put on weight.

“It’s nurturing. She needs a good bit of that right now. She needs to learn to like herself.”

Sue said Nikki suffered the eating disorder aged nine which her doctor said was the worst case he had seen at Great Ormond Street in London.

Her daughter became a star in the seventh series of Big Brother in 2006 when she was 24.

Before the pandemic, she was working in a school and was also taking courses in English and science.

But Sue admitted the Covid crisis hit her daughter hard and she suffered from “terminal loneliness”.

She added: “This last year has just about floored her – from the first lockdown, it was hellish.

“She struggled because she couldn’t go to the gym.

“Then, in December, she fell down and cracked her pelvis in two places and broke her wrist.

“I stayed with her for four weeks because she couldn’t do anything.”

Two of Nikki’s friends have launched a GoFundMe online page to help raise money for private treatment.

The pals wrote online: “She has been battling for most of her life and as you can see, Nikki is now in a very bad way, so we need to do something quickly.”
