Brian Conley worried his manipulative EastEnders character is 'living on borrowed time'

Brian Conley is worried his EastEnders character is living on borrowed time.

The comic, 60, joined the BBC soap as Terry Cant earlier this year.

He told the Daily Star Sunday: “I think everyone worries their character will be killed off. You always think that.

“But I’ve been told you get a bit of a heads-up before you get the script for that.

“At the moment I think I’ve got a bit of life left in me.”

Brian hopes bosses keep him on the show as Sonia Fowler’s dad because it’s his dream role.

He said: “I’d always wanted to be part of it. I wasn’t working, so it was like a gift from heaven. I’ve been part of the show for seven months and it’s been a gift. Everyone is so lovely there.”

Brian is currently busy filming scenes that will be hitting our screens around Christmas.

It sounds like they will be must-see telly. He added: “It’s all the bells and whistles at Christmas. It’s building up.

“My story really kicks off. It’s a soap – it’s got to be dramatic.” Conley hit the big time with The Brian Conley Show and the sitcom Time After Time in the Nineties.

He also went on Strictly Come Dancing in 2017.

EastEnders dropped a huge bombshell last month as Terry’s true identity was exposed.

Since arriving in Walford he’s managed to convince everyone, especially Sonia, he’s a genuine guy with a lot of cash.

When in reality he’s a huge fraud and he’s not even Sonia’s (Natalie Cassidy) real father, nor does he have any money.

Terry was arrested in recent scenes after scratching Sonia’s new love interest’s car after he saw him getting close to another woman in Ruby’s nightclub.

Whilst at the police station Rocky was asked to confirm his real name and his true identity was revealed.

He announced his real name to be Thomas Cotton.

After he was released Dotty Cotton (Milly Zero) was waiting outside of the station for her ‘uncle Tom’ and lectured him on nearly ruining their plans against Sonia.

The scheming pair are wanting to get their hands on Dot’s inheritance following her exit from Walford last year, with Dot giving Sonia power of attorney back in April this year.

EastEnders airs Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday on BBC One
