Casualty fans gobsmacked as they spot Waterloo Road teacher on BBC medical drama

Casualty fans were aghast as they spotted a Waterloo Road star in Saturday’s episode.

William Ash played former Deputy Head and science teacher Christopher Mead on Waterloo Road years ago.

Viewers went into complete meltdown on Twitter as they recognised the actor years after he starred in the BBC drama set in a comprehensive school.

Ash starred in Waterloo Road from 2009 until 2011, and fans quickly notice him on Casualty a decade later.

Taking to Twitter, one fan said: “William Ash in Casualty. How I miss Chris Mead”.

While another wrote: “Will Ash who played Chris Mead in Waterloo road is on this episode, yes.”

“MR MEAD”, penned a third viewer.

A fourth social media user remarked: “It’s the guy from Waterloo Road”.

The actor was part of a heartbreaking storyline tonight as the BBC show highlighted domestic abuse cases taking place during lockdown.

He played a character named Kevin who had been violent towards his partner Linda while they stayed at home during the pandemic.

Linda was taken to the hospital by paramedics Fenisha and Jan in the upsetting scenes.

While she was being checked over on the ward, Kevin arrived looking for her.

Marty gave him leaflets about counselling for his anger issues, but he found them crumpled up on the floor later on.

At the end of the upsetting episode, Linda decided to go back home with Kevin as she said she didn’t want to be on her own.

In heartbreaking scenes, Jan and Fenisha couldn’t persuade her to get help.

Elsewhere in the episode, Jan found out that Fenisha is pregnant.

The paramedic was angry at first that Fenisha hadn’t told her and that she’d kept her pregnancy a secret from colleagues Ethan, who was the father.

She was also surprised to find out Ethan didn’t want anything to do with the child when he found out he was the dad.

They’re unaware that there’s currently another secret being kept – that Ethan has Hungtington’s.
