TV gardener Charlie Dimmock has opened up about her love life and claimed that she is “too old” for marriage.
The 55-year-old red-head has been a household name ever since her first gardening show, titled Ground Force, took off from 1997 alongside her co-stars Alan Titchmarsh and Tommy Walsh until the show came to an end after their eight-year run.
Now, the green-fingered goddess can be found presenting the BBC daytime show Garden Rescue where she has been sprinkling her gardening magic on a range of properties since 2016.
And the auburn beauty has been open about her relationship status ever since the early ’90s, but as of 2014 the bubbly gardener has remained happily single.
In a recent interview with the Daily Mail, the TV presenter revealed she has no hopes of getting married in her future and instead wants to focus on her successful TV career.
She revealed to the publication: “I’m too old now, certainly too old for marriage, there’s no point. I can’t see anything happening when it comes to romance; somebody would have to really bowl me over.
“I am quite content without a man in my life,” she explained.
However, Charlie’s love life hasn’t always been so easy as the fiery fox engaged in a public affair with one of her crew members on Ground Force which ended her long-term relationship with viticulturist John Mushet.
The pair unfortunately called time on their relationship after more than 13 years together following her summer fling with microphone operator Andy Simmons in 2001.
But looking back of the controversial affair, the Hampshire-native has admitted she doesn’t regret their messy break up.
She said: “I don’t see Andy anymore, but I don’t regret what happened. You wouldn’t do anything if you kept worrying about what might go wrong.
“John and I had been together for a long time so when we split up I heavily relied on family and close friends.
“I’ve discovered that the most difficult after-effect of the break-up is getting into another relationship.”
