Conor McGregor and Machine Gun Kelly have clashed on the red carpet of the MTV Video Music Awards at the Barclays Centre In Brooklyn on Sunday night.
The professional UFC fighter is still recovering from his horror leg break from his last fight, but that didn’t appear to stop him from getting involved in a physical confrontation with the musician.
A source told Page Six they “got into a fight at the top of the carpet” and “had to be pulled apart.”
The clash was captured by onlookers as the 33-year-old Irishman lunged at the 31-year-old after a few choice words.
He was unable to make contact though as security guards were quick to pull him off.
“They scuffled then it settled down and Conor went for him again,” the source said, adding, that the photographers “weren’t happy” and were “saying they were going to boycott Conor because they were worried MGK and Megan wouldn’t walk.”
Another source said that security had to get involved and “everyone was screaming.”
“[McGregor] was ready to throw fists,” the second source said, adding, “Security was having trouble holding him back.”
While it is not clear what happened, according to TMZ the fight occurred after Conor asked MGK for a photo but was refused.
Sources told the publication that MGK then pushed Conor who stumbled, spilling his drink before throwing what was left of his beverage at the singer.
Despite the photo evidence Conor’s rep told Page Six that the fight didn’t occur.
“Conor only fights fighters,” he said in a statement.
Conor was reportedly escorted out of the venue briefly but made it back in time for the start of the ceremony.
A rep for Conor denied the claims and told The Sun that the Irish star “did not instigate the incident, was never kicked out of the building and is inside enjoying the show.”
MGK soon recovered and was photographed on the carpet alongside girlfriend Megan Fox.
