EastEnders legend Danny Dyer, who plays former landlord Mick Carter, has said he is desperate for his wife Jo to turn into her mum as she gets older.
Danny, 43, married childhood sweetheart Jo in 2016 after having children Dani, Sunnie and daughter Artie after starting to date in 1992.
But despite being together for nearly thirty years, Danny has got some ideas of improvement for his wife as he wants her to become like his mother-in-law.
The BBC star said on his new podcast with daughter Dani: “You know a lot of men don’t like their mother-in-laws… I think I’m more in love with my mother-in-law than my wife.
“I do love her very, very much. What they say is you look at your wife and then you look at your mother-in-law and that’s what your wife will turn into.
“I can’t wait for my wife to turn into Carol.”
Meanwhile, Dani, 24, is set to welcome her first child with her boyfriend Sammy Kimmence later this month.
Speaking on the podcast, Danny revealed that he has nicknamed his first grandchild “the chav”, but Dani didn’t seem to mind the cheeky moniker.

Danny excitedly said: “The Chav’s coming – it’s on its way!”
Dani then asked her dad if he would be there to help her through her labour, to which he said: “As long as it’s nice and quick for you, it doesn’t matter if I’m in the waiting room or indoors with my feet up eating some crisps.
The pair continued to talk about the birth as Danny asked: “I wonder where it is now, where its head is – is it coming down the vaginal passage?”
Dani casually replied: “It is, it will be a vaginal birth hopefully – but you just don’t know until you’re in labour.”
The mum-to-be is keeping the sex of her child a secret after showing off her gender-neutral nursery earlier this week.
Dani was dating Sammy before finding fame on Love Island in 2018 and finding love with Jack Fincham, but it didn’t take long for them to reunite after the show.
