Diversity star says Meghan and Harry can 'heal feud if they show understanding'

Diversity dancer Ashley Banjo has waded into the rift between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and the Royal Family to offer some advice.

Following the couple’s explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey there have been reports that the relationship between the Sussexes and the Royal Family has become strained.

However, Ashley has insisted that rift can be mended with “conversations and understanding”.

Ashley’s inside knowledge stems from the bond he struck up with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex following Diversity’s dance honouring George Floyd on Britain’s Got Talent last September.

George was murdered by a white police officer kneeling on his neck for almost nine minutes in Minneapolis in May 2020.

Though the Black Lives Matter-inspired dance routine brought nearly 25,00 Ofcom complaints, it also led to the dancer receiving a personal phone call from Harry and Meghan.

Speaking to the Sun Ashley said: “I’ve been lucky enough to meet quite a few members of the Royal Family including the late Prince Philip and Her Majesty the Queen.

“Every time we’ve spoken they’ve all been very polite and lovely to me.”

He went on to say that he believed that amends could be made between the Royal Family and Prince Harry and Meghan.

“But as far as any family feuds go, I believe anything can be healed with enough conversation and understanding,” he added.

“It just depends how much people really want to engage in that process, only time will tell I guess.”

The star previously spoke about his relationship with Harry and Meghan with talk show host Jonathan Ross, saying they had had a “lovely chat”.

He went on: “[It] made me sort of realise, way before their [Oprah] interview, they spoke me through some stuff and really opened my eyes to some of the stuff they’d been through.

“I was like, wow, this is real and if anyone understood it, they did, about where I was at, in the midst of a storm.”
