Former EastEnders actress Martine McCutcheon often shares an insight with her online followers and her latest post certainly hasn’t disappointed.
The actress turned singer took to her Instagram Stories to reveal that she was heading out to received her first Botox treatment at the Therapie Clinic.
Martine, 45, documented her day from the journey to the cosmetic clinic and undergoing the procedure which saw her receive Botox injections above her eyes.
The mum-of-one revealed she was overjoyed ahead of her first treatment as she highlighted her concerns while pointing to the corners of her eyes, most notably known as the “crow’s feet”.
In view of her 438,000 Instagram followers, Martine said: “Hi everybody, so I’m so excited because I am on my way to The Therapie Clinic to have my first ever treatment.
“I’ll be talking you through what I’m going to have and I can’t wait!”
She went on to tell the clinician: “So, my main concern is kind of here [pointing to her eyes], can we sort that out with Botox?”
The clinician responded: “Yes, of course, we can put some Botox here just to ever so slightly lift it and smooth over those lines.
“Yes, so when you smile – smile for me – all those dynamic lines that you see, these will be ever so slightly smoothed.”
A further video clip showed Martine being injected just above her eyes blocking the nerve signals to specific muscles so they relax.
Botox is the trade name for Botulinum toxin that is injected into specific areas to stop the movement of muscles in the face.
Many use it in a bid to stop wrinkles from developing or getting worse, while some use it for the treatment of migraines and blocking the nerve signals that are responsible for sweating.
Currently, Botox treatment is available on the NHS for specific conditions but not if they are intended purely for cosmetic purposes.
The NHS website claims that Botox costs around £100 to £350 depending on the area that is being treated and the clinic that carries out the procedure.
However, it states that Botox is not permanent with the side effects often lasting around three to four months.
While Martine may be famed for playing Tiffany Mitchell, appearing in over 360 episodes between 1995 and 1998, she has recently been entertaining viewers on Celebrity Gogglebox.
The London-born star appears alongside her husband Jack McManus, who is also a singer.
The pair married in 2012, five years after they started dating in 2007.
