Ed Sheeran has told how he is dead set on having more kids after after his first daughter was born in September.
The musician, 30, admitted he would be “super grateful” if he is able to have more kids with wife Cherry Seaborn, 29.
The singer said he would “love” to have another child and give a brother or sister to his daughter Lyra Antarctica.
Speaking to the Open House podcast, Ed said: “I would obviously be super grateful to be able to have any more kids, but I think girls are far superior to boys. As a boy myself, I feel like I can say this.
“I feel like we were so lucky to be able to have one that I think I would obviously love more. But I think we’re so lucky to just have one. So if nothing else happens, I’m so happy, basically.”
He also revealed he and his wife have a strict rule that they must have a date night once a week following the advice of friends.
Ed said: “Whoever’s in town, even if it’s a good friend we haven’t seen in a while, if they want to see us on this certain night, it’s a no, it’s a no.
“We go to date night and we can’t talk about being parents on date night. Because when you’re a parent all you talk about is being a parent 24/7 and you need to have whole time for just you.”
Ed released his new song Bad Habits on Friday – an electronic dance track with pulsating synths and heavy bass, which is a far cry from the pop/folk-pop the singer-songwriter normally churns out.
He also unveiled the song’s music video on the same day, in which he was dressed as a pink-suited vampire and caused chaos with his gruesome looking pals.
Ed wrote Bad Habits alongside Fred Again and Snow Patrol‘s Johnny McDaid, who he has previously collaborated with.
It is the first single he has released this year after 2020’s Afterglow.
The single is expected to appear on his forthcoming album, believed to be called Minus (-), according to NME.
