Pop star Ellie Goulding has announced she’s expecting her first child with husband Caspar Jopling.
The Love Me Like You Do singer has revealed she is already 30-weeks gone in an interview with Vogue after spending lockdown in Gloucestershire with her other half.
She told the publication that she found out she was with pregnant on their one-year wedding anniversary.
The singing sensation explained: “That was not the plan. The thought of getting pregnant didn’t seem like it could be a reality.
“Becoming pregnant kind of made me feel human. I want a better word than womanly, [but]—I have curves I’ve never had before. I’m enjoying it. My husband’s enjoying it.”

She went on to reveal that she had “no idea” that she was already pregnant while appearing on The One Show in July last year.
Ellie said: “That was [around] the time when Caspar and I went away briefly when we were allowed to for our one-year anniversary, and that’s basically when we found out.
“It was crazy because it was our one-year anniversary.”
The Burn hitmaker hasn’t been seen publicly since the early days of her pregnancy, after choosing to keep her news private for the most part.

In May, Ellie opened up about how lockdown had impacted her marriage to Caspar, 29.

She told Glamour UK’s digital issue: “It’s been great, I can honestly say that we haven’t come to blows, we haven’t stormed out of the house or vice versa and I’m grateful for that.”
“Lockdown is probably not ideal straight after you get married, to suddenly be completely forced together, but it’s been actual evidence that we can just coexist really peacefully and really happily.”
Ellie moved back to London in July, while Caspar stayed in Oxford to finish his MBA.
Talking about their lengthy time apart, the singer-songwriter previously told The Mirror: “I love my husband – but I also love myself.
“I can read a book. I can go for a run, I can eat messily.
“So it’s really great that you can have a partner that you don’t have to be with 24/7 – even when you’re married.”
