Emma Willis showed her generosity over Christmas when she found out Kate Garraway couldn’t get a food delivery.
The Good Morning Britain presenter was isolating with her children Billy and Darcey so she could take them to see their dad Derek Draper in hospital in the hope of sharing a special family day together.
Unfortunately though, that meant Kate, 53, wasn’t able to take a trip to her local supermarket to get the weekly food shop.
Doing what most others would try and do in the age of online shopping, the GMB presenter then tried to get a Tesco slot, but was horrified to learn there were none left.
When The Voice presenter Emma, 44, got wind of Kate’s panic, she decided to step up and do something about it.
The Circle host called Marks & Spencer and ordered a luxury food and drink hamper for her industry friend.
The mum-of-three’s kindness was incredibly thoughtful, and meant Kate and the kids were overjoyed having such gorgeous food over the festive period – despite no basics like bread.
The breakfast TV presenter remembered their extravagant breakfasts as she joked to The Sunday Times magazine how she had to explain why Billy and Darcey couldn’t have their usual cereal.
“We had this extraordinary situation where we didn’t have any bread but we had canapés,” she told the publication.
“The kids would ask, ‘What’s for breakfast?’ ‘Canapés.’ ‘Can’t we have Rice Krispies?’
“‘No — we don’t have any. But you can have truffles!'” the presenter laughed.
Kate has had one of the most difficult years of her life after her husband Derek was diagnosed with the coronavirus last March.

The star’s partner was put into a coma and faced huge complications that are still having an impact on him now, as he remains in hospital.
Kate has often spoken of her battle in trying to hold the family together and now she’s preparing for her husband’s long-awaited return home, having renovated the house with wheelchair access and installed a wet room.
Reflecting on how much has changed, she recently said on her Twitter page: “As we pass a year since Covid-19 changed us forever, I wanted to get closer to find out how and why it had made such a devastating impact to Derek’s life and how we move forward in this new world.”
