Emmy Awards host has cheeky dig at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's sex life

Cedric the Entertainer took a brutal swipe at the royal family as he presented the Emmy Awards ceremony 2021 on Sunday night.

The 57-year-old presented the sought-after awards to a slightly smaller audience as they returned with a bang after the 2020’s attempt at a virtual show.

While the American comic celebrated the best in film and TV this year, the actor used his platform to share his views on the royal power couple, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

The host received overwhelming praise for the successful show over the weekend as millions of viewers tuned in for the must-see awards ceremony.

As he warmed up the crowd for a fun-filled night, Cedric couldn’t help but joke about the year’s memorable events for the British monarchy.

He joked: “As great as The Crown is, it pales in comparison to the real monarchy.

“I mean, that Oprah interview with Prince Harry and Meghan, that was the real tea right there, wasn’t it?

“Meghan must put it on that boy because he renounced his throne quicker than Eddie Murphy in Coming to America.”

The royal couple found themselves in hot water earlier this year when they aired an explosive interview with American sweetheart Oprah Winfrey in which the mum-of-two shared her experience living in the heart of the royal family.

The 40-year-old mother famously claimed how there were “concerns” over “how dark” their first-born son Archie would be while she was pregnant.

The Suits actress also added how she felt suicidal while the pair continued to carry out their royal duties as working members of the family back in 2019.

Cedric continued: “I can’t believe they were talking about little Archie. How dark that little baby gonna be.

“They need little Archie! Charles can’t dance, who else is going to teach them how to TikTok? I can just see it now, baby Archie with the queen, like come on Gammy.”

And it turns out the jokes were a huge hit with the viewers as well as the live audience as fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the show online.

One viewer wrote: “Cedric the Entertainer making fun of the royals and stanning King Archie love that!” as another added: “Cedric shading the royal fam though.”

But it wasn’t just the royal family who felt the heat from the comedian on Sunday, as Cedric made sure to poke fun at Nicki Minaj’s following her claim that the Covid-19 vaccine made her cousin’s friend “impotent”.
