Fern Britton has been savagely mocked on Twitter after she tweeted asking if the coronavirus pandemic is a ‘conspiracy to control the population’.
The former This Morning presenter proposed the question to her 78.9K followers and was trolled afterwards by a storm of fans questioning her tweet.
Taking to her official account, the 63-year-old asked her followers if they think the deadly virus is being used to “control” us and how it is going to ever end.
Making it clear that she believes Covid is a “real and dangerous virus”, she was still met with an onslaught backlash from angry Twitter users.

Fern was dubbed ‘deluded’ following the posts by furious social media users.
The star tweeted: “I believe Covid is a real and dangerous virus running amok amongst the world’s population and ruining the world’s economy.
“However, if this is all a con to control us, what is the end game?
“This is an authentic question.”
The star also admitted she is ‘not coping’ following lockdown three after she replied to a fan who said: “Oh God don’t say that. I’m not coping as it is.”
Fern replied: “Oh Grant. Me neither x.”
Fans rushed to reply in fury, one tweeted back: “F**k right off. Anyone buying into this is seriously deluded.”
Another responded: “You are not seriously asking that question are you?”
Fern has been vocal throughout the pandemic on advising her followers to follow protocols.
She recently tweeted following the news of a third lockdown in the UK: “This virus is not going away anytime soon.
“We must be vigilant and assume we may be carrying it.”
She added: “If we don’t, the NHS will crumble, more and more people we love will die and our children will have their education, their future and their mental health destroyed.”
Fern finished the post by reiterating the government’s lockdown slogan.
“FACE HANDS SPACE,” she said.
