Jack Whitehall took aim at former Good Morning Britain presenter Piers Morgan on Wednesday’s show, in the opening moments of his interview.
The comedian, 32, recalled his last appearance on the show, claiming Piers had been shouting at politician Ann Widdecombe in the moments before his chat.
Jack admitted he preferred his introduction on Wednesday’s show, leaving hosts Adil Ray and Susanna Reid laughing awkwardly.
Ahead of his interview, Andi Peters hosted a competition segment from the filming location for Bridgerton, inviting viewers to play to win a jeep, caravan and £35,000.
Jack complimented Andi’s presenting, remarking: “What I first want to explain to you about is thank you so much for that lead-in. Having Andi Peters giving away a caravan on the set of Bridgerton.
“That’s the way to start my day. Last time I was on I had five minutes of Piers shouting at Ann Widdecombe.
“That was definitely a much nicer way to start my day with Andi Peters.”
Susanna didn’t say anything, but Adil quickly remarked: “Things have changed.”
They swiftly changed the topic of conversation to discuss Jack’s TV series, Travels With My Father, which is currently in production for another series.
Elsewhere in the interview, the Fresh Meat star addressed tackling food waste and plugged his presenting stint at the upcoming BRIT awards later this month.
Piers left Good Morning Britain on March 9, quitting hours after he stormed off set during a debate with his co-star Alex Beresford.
The outspoken presenter previously clashed with Ann Widdecombe in May of last year, leading the Tory MP to slam Piers for “interrupting” her during the interview.
Jack appeared on the show the following week, only for Piers to insist he was “full of s***” hours after his GMB interview played out.
After his appearance, Jack took to Twitter to share a video of himself using Piers’ autobiography Don’t You Know Who I Am? as loo roll, hitting out at the broadcaster.
“Had a lovely chat with dear old @piersmorgan this morning on GMB,” he tweeted at the time.
“It was all quite serious, so I didn’t get the chance to tell him how his book has literally got me through this lockdown.
