Kate Garraway has revealed that she often gets mixed up with fellow ITV co-star Mary Nightingale.
The 54-year-old presenter woke up the nation with the latest news headlines from across the globe on Thursday morning.
She appeared on Good Morning Britain alongside Martin Lewis and Susanna Reid when conversation turned to celebrity doppelgangers.
While Susanna, 50, protested that she didn’t have a famous lookalike, Kate recalled the moment she mixed-up with ITV newsreader Mary.
She explained: “I’ve been mixed up with Mary Nightingale a few times. It’s a compliment really.
“I went to this glitzy event and I was passed an envelope and it said Mary Nightingale on it.
“The person who gave it to me had to come back and take it off me.”
Earlier in the episode, Kate revealed the emotional moment she shared with a stranger that has caused her to make a U-turn.

Former Labour lobbyist was struck down with coronavirus last March and was soon placed into an induced coma.
After spending more than a year in hospital, Derek returned home to his family in April and now receives around-the-clock care.
Wife Kate filmed an ITV documentary earlier this year which showed the reality of Derek’s condition and her and her familiy’s struggles amid Derek’s recovery.
Kate Garraway: Finding Derek is nominated for a National Television Award, with the ceremony taking place tonight (September 9).
But Kate has spoke about feeling “torn” over asking for votes – and said she wasn’t going to go to the awards at all.
Speaking to pals Martin and Susanna, Kate explained: “I’ve been feeling really emotional, to be honest, and wondering whether to go at all, about going.
“It just feels a bit wrong to go, it feels wrong to ask people to vote because it’s such a difficult subject.”

Kate went on to reveal that woman stopped her in the street and told how her much her Finding Derek documentary meant to her after she lost her sister to Covid.
The I’m A Celebrity star continued: “She said, ‘My sister got Covid in May 2020, it damaged her heart’ – makes me feel tearful now – ‘and two weeks ago, she died from that heart damage’.
“And I just thought, okay, I am going to ask people to vote, because there are millions of people that are still – as we try to get on with our lives and get some joy back – still suffering from Covid, suffering from their livelihoods, there are people waiting for treatment for other things because of the strain that the pandemic has put on the NHS, and they, as we try and get on with our lives and feel a bit of joy again, are starting to feel forgotten.”
Kate revealed that the passerby said her late sister got a “boost” from watching Kate’s documentary with the mother of two revealing that she wants the film to win as she does not want those people to be forgotten.
