Gogglebox star Lee Riley’s partner has shared an emotional update as they separate ahead of the new series.
The Channel 4 show will return to screens later this month, with Lee reuniting with his screen partner Jenny Newby for the occasion.
Posting to Instagram on Wednesday, Lee’s romantic partner Steve Mail shared a loving birthday tribute to the star ahead of Lee’s return to England to film the series.
The couple have been together for 26 years and spent their summer enjoying time together in Cyprus.
In his post, Steve said he would “miss” Lee, who he described as his ‘better half and best friend’.

He also shared a picture of the pair stood in front of a hotel pool.
Steve wrote: “A very happy 53rd birthday to my better half and my best friend in the world love you to the moon and back, thank you for yet another amazing summer here in beautiful Cyprus.
“I will miss you so much as you prepare to head back to Blighty for the next instalment of Gogglebox when you will finally reunite with your sidekick, the adorable Jenny Newby.”

Replying to the post, Lee’s Gogglebox co-star Ellie Warner wrote: “Aww happy birthday Lee.
“Hope you have a fab day.”
Lee and Jenny will feature once again the forthcoming series, where they film scenes from Jenny’s caravan in Hull.
The pair often amuse viewers with their antics, including a memorable occasion when Lee ate Jenny’s face mask after mistaking the beauty product for guacamole.

Lee also dazzled viewers last year when he demonstrated how to make the other kind of face mask with a sock.
Ahead of the return of Gogglebox, a celebrity special will air as part of Channel 4’s Black to Front event.
Drag Race UK stars Tayce and Tia Kofi will feature in the special.
