Holly Willoughby red-faced after 'messing up' This Morning script in blunder

Holly Willoughby fudged her lines on Monday’s This Morning, having been confused by the layout of their script.

Her co-star Phillip Schofield was quick to pick up on the mishap, as he teasingly accused her of “messing up” the segment.

It all kicked off when Holly, 40, was instructed to read the timetable for the day, with a special on DIY Easter Decorations airing at 11.35am.

However, on the script, the time was described as 25 minutes to 12 – with the numbers leaving Holly confused.

Spoiling her lines, she admitted the fact that she’d never read out “25 to 12” before had tampered with her presenting skills.

Phil picked up on her confusion, asking: “Holding on by your fingernails?”

She responded: “I don’t think we’ve ever had an item at 25 to 12? It’s either been half-past… I’ve never said those words before on a time line-up. Correct me if I’m wrong, there’s lots of evidence, I have been doing this for 10 years.”

“You did completely mess it up so maybe you’ve never said it,” Phil exclaimed in response.

Holly erupted into giggles, as Phil went on to take another swipe, saying: “I don’t know I’ve ever said quarter past 12 now.”

Scolding her co-star, Holly hit back, saying: “Don’t be ridiculous! You’re being ridiculous.”

Holly Willoughby admitted the script had left her struggling on the show

When 11.35am finally rolled around, arts and crafts expert Georgina Burnett appeared on the show, armed with the tools necessary to make some colourful Easter-themed ornaments.

Georgina had one unusual tool in tow – a tube of shaving cream.

The ITV star explained you can mix shaving foam with dye to create a marbled pattern for eggs, which can be turned into pretty tree ornaments.

Georgina also showed Phil and Holly a handy hack for folding napkins into the shape of bunny ears, in a playful nod to the holiday.

And, as a third hack, Georgina cut up an egg carton and turned each compartment into a miniature basket for tiny chocolate eggs.

Georgina’s hacks weren’t the only Easter-themed segment on Tuesday’s show – celeb chef John Torode popped up in the kitchen with a mouth-watering seasonal recipe.

The Masterchef star whipped up a chocolate pudding with an entire Easter Egg at the centre, leaving presenters Phil and Holly delighted as they tucked into the dessert.

Impressed by the pud, Holly decided she would bake one for her family on Easter Sunday, asking John for tips on prepping the dessert in advance.

She wondered: “I’m just thinking on Easter I want to do this but I don’t want to be doing this bit [the preparation]. Can I do this before?”

“You can do it three hours before,” John advised.

This Morning airs on weekdays at 10am on ITV.
