Holly Willoughby sends The Queen poignant message after Prince Philip's death

Holly Willoughby has reached out to The Queen following news of Prince Philip’s death, sending her condolences to Her Majesty.

Prince Philip died on Friday morning at the age of 99, passing away peacefully at his home in Windsor Castle.

Married for 74 years, Queen Elizabeth first met Prince Philip in 1939, and they eventually walked down the aisle in Westminster Abbey eight years later.

Struck by the news of the Duke of Edinburgh’s death, This Morning presenter Holly posted a special message for The Queen, sharing in her grief.

The TV personality, 40, shared an image of the Royal couple gazing at one another, with The Queen’s arm looped through her husband’s.

It read: “It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen announces the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
