Hollyoaks star Chelsee Healey may be best known for her role as Goldie McQueen, but she first rose to fame as mouthy teenager Janeece Bryant on BBC series Waterloo Road.
The bombshell won over legions of fans as hilarious Goldie on the soap, becoming a viewer favourite after joining back in 2016.
Her love life is just as dramatic off screen, after she welcomed a baby daughter with her partner in 2017 before they called off the relationship after years together.
Daily Star has taken a look into her life off-camera, from her personal dramas to her surgery secrets.
Personal Life
Chelsee Healey was born in Manchester, the primary location of Waterloo Road ’s initial seven series, and from 2016 to 2018 she had an on-off relationship with boyfriend Jack Malloy.
She announced her pregnancy in February 2017, and in August that year she welcomed their daughter Coco.
The star dropped two stone after birthing her daughter, and she told Closer magazine: “I still don’t like my boobs, so I’ll have a second reduction to go down to a B or C-cup. My bum’s a bit saggy, too, so I could do with a bum lift!”
She continued: “Don’t get me wrong – I’ve thought about having surgery – everyone seems to be getting their bums done – but then in years to come it’ll go out of fashion and I’ll be stuck with it!”
In 2020 Chelsee attended an illegal rave in Manchester during the lockdown period. Sparked by the Covid-19 pandemic, the aptly named ‘Quarantine Rave’ was attended by more than 4,000 people, Healey included
After she was pictured smiling, drinking and dancing with friends, Chelsee said: “On Saturday night I made a silly mistake. I now realise it was irresponsible and I am truly sorry.”
The gorgeous actress likes to dress up for her 616k Instagram followers, wearing bright, bold colours and daring patterns and she currently holds the record of ‘least able’ contestant on BBC’s Pointless.
Waterloo Road
Set in Healey’s hometown, Waterloo ran for seven series before relocating to Scotland for it’s final three seasons. The beloved drama was re-commissioned for an eleventh season back in September after six years off our screens.
Chelsee rose to fame as cheeky troublemaker Janeece Bryant in the BBC school drama Waterloo Road between 2006 and 2009. The show’s writers had to write a storyline which explained her sudden breast enlargement, a surgery that the star paid £3000 for when she was just 19 years old
Her new 32DD chest was written as the result of a modelling attempt after meeting a famous model on the school’s career day. Healey left Waterloo Road and returned the following year, pregnant and wanting to become the school’s secretary.
Janeece didn’t feel ready for motherhood and agreed to give her baby to Waterloo Road’s food technology teacher and her husband. However, after taking one look at baby Cheryl – named after Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Cole – Janeece couldn’t give her away, and decided to keep her.
After her husband-to-be left her at the altar, Bryant moved to Ibiza with her mother and daughter.
Casualty
Healey’s next big gig continued with the BBC, this time in 2014 in medical drama Casualty as the ward’s loveable tea-lady Honey Wright.
The hospital’s bubbly waitress drove a bright pink car adorned with false eyelashes above the headlights and had another job as a pole dancer. She had a short relationship with medic Ethan Hardy before leaving the show in 2015.
Hollyoaks
Perhaps her most memorable character to date is Goldie McQueen in Channel 4’s long-running soap Hollyoaks.
The legendary McQueen family first appeared in the show in 2006 and have been a major part of the show ever since as they are frequently involved in some of the show’s most scandalous storylines.
Chelsee Healey’s character Goldie joined the McQueen clan in 2016 as Sylver McQueen’s adoptive sister and arrives with her 15-year-old twin sons in tow.
After Healey announced her pregnancy in January 2017, the show’s writers promised lots of drama for the character before her departure.
Goldie left Hollyoaks in July that year after taking the blame for a robbery she did not commit and in the following month Chelsee was long-listed for Inside Soap Awards Funniest Female.
TV Appearances
Healey has also made a number of television appearances in shows from Strictly Come Dancing, which she placed runner up in 2011 with partner Pasha Kovalev, to Bear Grylls: Mission Survive in 2016, to Celebs Go Dating in 2019.
She met contestant and fitness fanatic Stephen Buckland on the show and the pair went to Tenerife together, but there has been no evidence of a continued relationship since.
