Hollyoaks fans couldn’t believe what they were seeing on Thursday night as they witnessed Verity Hutchison betray Sami Maalik.
The latest edition of the Channel 4 soap saw Verity (Eva O’Hara) lock lips with Shaq (Omar Maalik), which meant she was cheating on Sami Maalik (Rishi Nair) behind his back.
Despite being in a relationship with Sami, Verity confessed she had feelings for Shaq to a rather upset Theresa McQueen (Jorgie Porter) earlier this week.
Shaq on the other hand has had a soft spot for Verity for a long time, but assumed that she didn’t feel the same way.
At first, Verity had insisted that she had no plans on acting upon her feelings, but clearly everything changed during the latest first look episode on E4.
After admitting his guilty affection to verity, she told Shaq that she reciprocated his feelings.
In the Dee Valley office, she asked: “What if [Sami’s] girl has got feelings for you too?”
Shaq was lost for words as Verity strolled towards the door and locked it, shutting the blinds.

The pair locked eyes and proceeded to shared a steamy snog.
Fans on social media were left fuming at the incident, with many rushing to Twitter to air their disappointment at the two.
One gutted viewer commented: “Nooo to Shaq and Verity! Sami doesn’t deserve this.”
A second agreed and wrote: “I’m disappointed in Verity”
A third penned: “dropping verity from my stan list! they’ve made her annoying”

A fourth simply said: “OMG VERITY AND SHAQ”
A fifth added: “I cannot wait until Sami finds out about verity and shaq. Silly girl after he forgave you for lying about being pregnant”
It follows Verity’s struggle to win over Sami after she lied about being pregnant.
Discussing the controversial romance, Verity actress Eva told Inside Soap that Verity feels “guilty” about her actions.
She said: “Verity has always had such a sweet romance with Sami,”
“But I think it’s that kind of “forbidden feelings” thing that often happens in a relationship, where you risk something that’s good for the possibility of something that’s exciting and new.
“Verity has lied to Sami before. So she is used to a bit of manipulation, whether she means it or not. And she does feel guilty.
Hollyoaks airs weekdays on Channel 4 at 6.30pm followed by first-look episodes on E4 at 7pm
