Hollyoaks' Stephanie Davis stalked by crazed fan who bombarded her with creepy gifts

Former Hollyoaks actress Stephanie Davis has been bombarded with creepy gifts and letters from a fan in a terrifying campaign outside her home.

Stephanie has faced panic attacks after Alex Boston, 43, became obsessed with her and forced her to move house.

Alex began sending letters and gifts to the actresses’ home and would loiter outside.

He would send her several social media messages leaving Stephanie subject to a “frightened and distressing campaign of obsessive and unwanted contact”.

Alex has now pleaded guilty to stalking at Liverpool and Knowsley Magistrates Court.

The three-month harassment came to an end in July this year after police found DNA on one of the letters the stalker sent.

Police searched Alex’s home and found many more letters he planned on sending to the distressed soap star.

Alex will be sentenced on December 22.

Ronan Molloy, District Crown Prosecutor for CPS Mersey Cheshire, said: “Stalking and harassment can take many forms, but the common denominator in all such cases is an unhealthy fixation on an individual by the perpetrator.

“Stalking is a serious offence, one which has a significant impact on the victim.

“The CPS is committed to the prosecution of these offences, working closely with our partners to ensure that victims are supported and protected wherever possible.

“Stalking is not a form of flattery and is not something women in public life should simply have to expect. It is a harmful practice and it will be taken very seriously.”

Stephanie was thrust into the spotlight after landing her role in Hollyoaks, playing Sinead Shelby from 2010 to 2015.

The actress returned to the Channel 4 soap for a year in 2018 but left again to pursue new projects.

In a statement on Instagram, Steph said: “Sometimes we make decisions based not on what we want but what we know is right.

“I have loved bringing Sinead into your homes for the past ten years but it’s with a heavy heart I have decided to leave Hollyoaks and now looking forward to working on new and exciting projects.”
