Iain Stirling says pubs opening is 'more significant' than his baby's birth

Love Island voiceover man Iain Stirling has risked the wrath of wife Laura Whitmore after joking about the birth of their first child.

The former CBBC presenter took to his official Instagram on Tuesday evening to share a snap of him enjoying a cold pint in the sun.

Sat outside at a socially distanced table, Iain could be seen sipping a Peroni with his pet pooch just out of shot.

He cheekily captioned the upload: “The most significant moment of my year to date.”

The snap was quickly picked up by countless comments – with many playfully pointing out he had just become a dad.

“A lot of things are just for me and my loved ones and we’ve chosen not to share publicly.”

The TV regular continued: “However I want to now share good news as it’s our news to share – and I’m gonna be honest it’s starting to look like my lock down beer belly is out of control.

“Iain and I are expecting a baby early 2021.

“It’s been hard to keep such happy news quiet.

“Especially the times when I’ve had to run out of live radio to get sick in a bin or my penchant for a bowl of mashed potato in the morning.”
