I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! has faced a number of blunders since the ITV show first aired in 2002.
The 2021 series has already faced its own blunders with the unfortunate incident of the storm, but after it cleared, ITV legends Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly welcomed the celebrities back to the Gwrych Castle in north Wales with open arms.
This is the second year the show will air from Wales due to the Covid-19 pandemic but fans will still witness the celebs gruelling conditions in camp with a lack of food and hot water as they face Bush Tucker Trials causing mayhem.
Over the years I’m A Celeb has made for prime time viewing, with blunders and disputes galore, but which are the biggest and, of course, most memorable?
Gillian McKeith fainting
In 2010, medic Bob had to work overtime as Gillian McKeith suffered from dizziness a several times while in the jungle.
Her most famous fainting moment was as she was chosen yet again to take part in a trail but this time the show was live causing presenters Ant and Dec to panic and to think of a back up option.
The 60-year-old fainting forced the rest of her campmates to do the challenge instead.
Speaking exclusively to Daily Star Online, the star admitted she still has “PTSD” following her jungle trauma.
Gemma Collins’ exit
Towie star Gemma Collins would disagree with fans that a helicopter ride over the Australian tropics is the trip of a lifetime.
Gemma was forced to evacuate the campsite after having a panic attack following the helicopter ride.
The star quit the jungle after just 72 hours in the Aussie outback.
Holly Willoughby’s slip up in first challenge
Holly Willoughby filled in for Ant McPartlin in 2018 hosting with Dec in Australia but the This Morning host made a huge blunder during her first I’m A Celeb trial.
The contestants had to climb up a metal tower, which was 100ft above the jungle floor, and collect numbered flags.
The team that did the challenge in the quickest time would be crowned the winners
However, Holly became confused and said: “I can’t remember what [time] the others got.
“I’m not good with numbers,” she told a shocked Dec.
Kate Garraway hanging up on Kiosk Kev
Kate Garraway left fans in hysteric after having an epic blunder in 2018 as she hung up on Kiosk Kev.
Kiosk Kev rang the campmates with the question after two celebs had won the Dingo Dollar Challenge, but before the Good Morning Britain host gave her answer, she hung up.
Kate left her campmates in dismay as the phoneline was dead when she desperately picked up the receiver.
Ant and Dec struggle to pronounce future Queens name
In the last series of I’m A Celeb, fans called out hosts Ant and Dec as they struggled to pronounce Giovanna’s name.
During the first Bush Tucker Trial, Gate to Hell, fans the hosts shouted words of encouragement at the mum-of-three, leaving fans frustrated and pointing out their blunder, urging the duo to learn how to say it properly.
One wrote: “Hi, absolutely loving the show so far but can Ant and Dec please learn how to pronounce Gi’s name correctly please? It is Gi Van Na, the o isn’t pronounced and it is like van not varn. Or just say Gi.”
Giovanna went on to become the first Queen of the Castle.
Shane Richie discusses new arrivals before they arrive
In 2020, Shane Richie was overheard talking about new arrivals Russell Watson and Ruthie Henshall before they arrived.
Shane was heard saying “R and R,” which fans believed to be code for their new campmates leaving them shocked that the celebs already new.
Shane just said “RnR” and everyone agreed,” said one.
“Then they announce Russell & Ruth, something tells me they know already.”
Another added: “R&R Shane said and then Ruthie and Russell get announced that they don’t know about yet. How’d he know that then?”
It was certainly a mystery to many viewers…
