Inside Joe-Warren Plant's break-up with older girlfriend amid Vanessa rumours

Joe-Warren Plant may only be 18 years old, but it seems he is no stranger to relationship drama with his older girlfriend.

The Emmerdale actor had been going through an on/off romance with 23-year-old Nicole Hadlow ahead of his Dancing on Ice stint.

In fact, things were so serious with Nicole that he was actually living with her, but is said to have now moved back to his mum’s home in Blackpool.

It was reported that the move happened following rows about the time Joe-Warren had spent training for Dancing on Ice with his professional partner, Vanessa Bauer.

A source told The Sun the couple have been “under strain” ever since Joe-Warren started rehearsing with German-born skater Vanessa, 24, for the ITV show – despite Joe vehemently denying anything went on between them both.

“They’ve been rowing a lot so decided earlier this month it was best Joe move out. It wasn’t what he wanted… but his dedication to the show has put their romance under pressure,” the insider claimed.

Nicole, who had been enjoying a romance with the soap star for three years, was said to have deleted all the pictures of her and Joe from her Instagram page.

However, she has since sparked speculation that they are back together, after she took to her Instagram stories to share a mysterious message about “learning to forgive” and “loving with all your heart” with her 17,000 followers.

The pair had been together since 2017 but went public in 2018 after Joe-Warren shared multiple cosy snaps of them to his social media.

Joe has opened up about struggling with the break-up ahead of the show, but says that training and the preparation is helping him cope with his heartache.

He told The Sun: “Relationships are hard to kind of deal with. It has helped to take my mind off of it slightly, having to focus and train all day every day.

“Even when you’re not training and you’re at home you’ve got to take the recovery aspect into terms.

“It’s helped taking my mind off it, but things are still tough to be fair.”

Joe also insisted that there is nothing going on with him and Vanessa amid the swirling rumours about their close relationship which reportedly blossomed during their many hours of training.

Speaking to Daily Star and other press, Joe explained: “With Dancing on Ice, it’s about telling a story and engaging with the audience and the judges.

“So you have to have a certain level of chemistry between you and your partner.

“I think everybody saw we’re getting on so well and assumed something was going on, but there isn’t,” the actor added.

Joe, who is the youngest-ever celebrity to take part in Dancing on Ice, went on to reveal that he and dancing queen Vanessa get on so well because they are both competitive people.

“We’re both dedicated to the show and trying the best we can,” he said.

“Vanessa has never not been in the final so she’s very driven and competitive. I’m also a competitive guy so we work well together.”

Dancing on Ice starts tonight at 6pm on ITV.
