BBC Breakfast star Dan Walker is currently attempting to impress the judges and British public on Strictly Come Dancing 2021.
Together with Strictly professional dancer Nadiya Bychkova, the TV presenter is learning how to dance and having a blast while doing it.
The glitz and glamour of the Strictly ballroom is very different to his day job as a broadcaster on BBC Breakfast.
When he’s not shaking it on the dance floor he is one of the highest earners on the BBC. But how much is he actually worth?
Here we take a closer look at his net worth and the salary he earns as a TV presenter.
Dan Walker’s net worth
Dan Walker’s exact net worth is not known, but it is said to be somewhere between £800,000 and £4million, according to Trend Celebs Now.
The TV host is one of the BBC’s highest earners.
According to BBC’s most recent annual report, Dan is the highest earner on BBC Breakfast.
As of July 2021, he boasts an annual salary of £295,000.
Between 2020 and 2021, Dan received a £35,000 pay rise, and earns more than colleagues Naga Munchetty, Charlie Stayt and Louise Minchin, who recently left the show.
However, this salary also included his earnings from Football Focus, which he quit earlier in the year.
He has previously opened up about his salary in an interview with the Radio Times, admitting he works really hard for the money.
He said: “You get accused of being part of the liberal, metropolitan elite and I couldn’t feel further from that.
“I do think I provide good value. I work my backside off six days a week and I have done for a long time.”
He added in the interview: “I get paid a lot. I really feel privileged and thankful for my job, and I love the people I work with.”
However, he added in another interview that people knowing his salary was uncomfortable.
Dan told the Press Association: “I still think working for the BBC is brilliant and the BBC are a fantastic organisation, and they provide value for money,” he told the Press Association.
“But I’d be lying if I told you it’s not awkward for people to know how much you earn.”
Dan has hosted BBC Breakfast since 2016, after taking over from Bill Turnbull. He also presented Football Focus from 2009 to 2021.
