Julia Bradbury has been labelled a “superwoman” as she gave an update on her battle with breast cancer.
The 51-year-old confirmed that she had been diagnosed with the disease last month on social media.
Since breaking the tragic news, the former Countryfile star has undergone a mastectomy.
Yesterday she took to Twitter to share an emotional update with her 141,000 followers after coming out of surgery the day before.
Julia shared an illustration created by The Yorkshire Post cartoonist Graeme Bandeira, which portrayed her as Superwoman.
The drawing showed a cartoon version of Julia flying over the Yorkshire hills and the Ribblehead viaduct.
The TV star penned: “This made me laugh & cry. @GraemeBandeira @yorkshirepost for your [love] & support.
“I don’t feel like Superwoman but I’m ‘happy’ that some positives can emerge from my breast cancer.
“Pls check yourselves & learn as much as you can about your own body.”
She concluded the message with the hashtag “#BreastCancerAwarenessMonth”.
Julia’s legion of fans flooded her replies with messages of support.
One admirer wrote: “Genuinely sad when I read the news of your breast cancer diagnosis.
“I finally checked myself & all good. So thank you for that.
“Your beautiful & inspirational so hope to see you back on the box soon.
“I’m sure there is more you can teach us about the heavenly Greek islands.” [sic]
Another chimed in to say: “I watched your TV series years ago when you was walking the lake District.
“You gave me so much pleasure. Beautiful lady and beautiful views.
“Wishing you all the best wishes in your fight for recovery.
“Stay strong lovely lady,” they concluded.
“Just remember to stay strong,” a third person added.
“I had oral Cancer in 2015, it returned in 2019 but behind my right eye, I was told inoperable, and untreatable.
“Prognosis was probably 3 to 6 months. Still here and still soldiering on. So keep on Living.”
