Katherine Ryan and her daughter were left horrified after their picnic in the park resulted in the pair witnessing an individual enjoying more than a walk in the park.
The funny woman took her 11-year-old daughter, Violet, to their local park for what she described as a “parking lot picnic” in order to spend some much-deserved mother and daughter time.
However, the 37-year-old was left in an awkward situation when she had to explain what was actually happening before their eyes.
Taking to her Instagram Stories, Canadian-born Katherine said: “Took my daughter for an enchanting parking lot picnic.
“The man in the car next to us was jerking off.”
Katherine, who is known for discussing motherhood in her skits then proceeded to film her conversation with Violet as she explained the situation.
She attempted to convince her daughter that the chap was in fact crying and not pleasuring himself.
“He was just crying, Violet,” she said while looking out of the car window.
However, Violet insisted that she knew what was happening as she responded: “No, he was not.”
While trying to convince her tween daughter, she added: “Yeah, he had his head far back,” as she attempted to recreate the scene while pretending to cry.
“No, why was his hand in the under zone then? In the underworld?” asked Violet.
Attempting to assure Violet that the chap was not participating in sexual behaviour, she said: “Because he’s sad about lockdown and he came to the parking lot to cry, and he was reaching for maybe a poem?”
Clearly amused by Katherine’s storytelling, Violet laughed as he said: “Then why was he ripping up the poem?”
Unable to continue the story, Katherine simply added: “He couldn’t get it.”
The mum-of-one recently starred in a part-autobiographical Netflix series, The Duchess, which focused on her love life as she attempted to date as a single mum.
“It was really important to show that single motherhood was nothing to be ashamed of.
“When I was raising my daughter, it certainly wasn’t an aspect of my life that I disparaged or made me less attractive or less valuable. It’s something that is actually a lot easier, in many ways, than having a man around,” she told Stylist.
