Katie Price has apparently been offered a mega bucks deal by show bosses on Big Brother Australia who are keen to sign her up for the show airing this summer.
Mum-of-five Katie, 43, is no stranger to the Big Brother formal, having already appeared in series 15 of Celebrity Big Brother in the UK and been crowned winner of the show in 2015.
The creators of Big Brother VIP are desperate to get Katie on board, and are willing to pay a “substantial fee” for her to appear Down Under later this year, according to a TV insider source.
If the former glamour model accepts the alleged offer, she will fly to Sydney for three weeks to film in August – which includes her having to undergo a two week quarantine beforehand.
But Katie is no stranger to filming in Australia, as she also appeared in the third series of I’m a Celebrity in 2004 – where she met her ex-husband Peter Andre.
She even returned to the ITV jungle series in 2009 for series 9 – earning £400,000 for the feature which made her the highest-paid I’m a Celebrity contestant before her record was beaten by boxer Amir Khan in series 17.
It has also been reported that Katie’s Aussie TV feature would also bring with it a five-figure donation to a charity close to her heart as a mum to 19-year-old Harvey.
Harvey has Prader-Willi syndrome as well as autism and septo-optic dysplasia, a rare sight disorder.
A source revealed: “Katie’s really popular in Australia. If she goes on The Morning Show she always trends.
“There’s real excitement about her – producers watched her on the British version and instantly knew she’d be a hit with Aussie viewers.”
Katie herself admitted she did not understand how she won the UK version of Big Brother as she feels she was reserved during the series.
However, the source said that this exact quality could win her over, and said: “That’s exactly the reason she’d be great – it’s a side of her we don’t often see. There had been a few British names suggested, but Katie is the first choice.
“Every option is being considered to make this an offer she can’t refuse.”
Despite making a lot of money over the years, Katie was declared bankrupt in December 2019 and earlier this year her net worth was estimated at less than £1 million at just over £770,000.
She was previously believed to have reached a £45 million financial peak due to her fashion, television, writing and modelling success.
