Katie Price’ s cage fighting ex husband Alex Reid has spoken of his relief after being diagnosed with autism.
The former MMA fighter and Celebrity Big Brother winner has explained how at 45-years-old he is now able to come to terms with things in light of the diagnosis.
Alex says throughout his life he has been the victim of horrendous bullying due to being different.
The star said: “It’s a relief in many ways but it’s a bit unnerving because it’s coming to terms with new things, but it also explains so much.”
He added to The Daily Mirror: “I’ve always thought of autism being like Rain Man and thought that wasn’t me, but understanding it more now it makes so much sense.

“My friends suggested I had an autism test and I came up significantly autistic.”
Alex added via his official Instagram page: “The cat is out of the bag.
“In all seriousness, although it’s slightly un-nerving and I’m still coming to terms with it, this diagnosis explains of lot of what’s gone on in my life.”
Alex entered the Celebrity Big Brother House in 2010 alongside Dane Bowers and Vinnie Jones.

Despite kicking off the show as the outsider he went on to take the crown.
Recalling his time inside the camera-filled Channel 4 compound, Alex admitted he was desperate to fit in and be liked.
Alex added to The Mirror: “I’ve always wanted to fit in, even when I was in the Big Brother house, I didn’t want to go in because I didn’t want to show myself that much.

“I didn’t want to be famous for being famous, I wanted to achieve something and have people be proud of me, but I was told I had to go in there so people could see the real me.
“People misconstrue everything I say, and if people see the real me they can understand what I’m about rather than attacking, and that’s the sad thing.”
Looking to the future, Alex is expecting his first child with fiancée Nikki Manashe.

The couple have been open with fans about their struggles to conceive and turned to IVF to help start a family.
In November Nikki confirm she was four weeks pregnant after a seven year battle.
Taking to Instagram, the 35-year-old wrote: “Even Miracles Take A Little Time.
“We Still Hope and sometimes against all odds, against all logic, we still hope.
“It’s official!! I can finally say it!!! My HCG levels today are 366!!! I was told that a healthy pregnancy should be around 100 and for twins 250 plus.”
