Liberty Poole has revealed that she’s hoping to go back to her “studies” at university despite finding fame on Love Island 2021.
The 21-year-old beauty from Birmingham shot to fame on this year’s series of the dating show, which took place in sunny Mallorca, and she even found a boyfriend in Jake Cornish until they sadly split up before the final.
The stunner is now sitting on a whopping 1.4million followers on Instagram, just behind winner Millie Court who has 1.5million fans, making her one of the most followed stars from this year’s series.
However, the Nando’s waitress clearly has her eye set on academia amid her showbiz success, because she’s admitted she’s hoping to return to her “studies” in a year’s time.
Brain-box Liberty previously studied advertising and PR at Birmingham City University, and despite being busy this year, she’s explained that she’s been trying to defer a year before going back to the books.
Taking to her Instagram Stories on Saturday night for a Q&A session with her adoring fans, Liberty chatted about her plans to return to her degree.
She told her fans: “I did marketing with advertising and PR at university, so i’m trying to defer a year at the moment because i’m just gonna be so busy, literally, but i’m hoping to go back to my studies after a year.”
The topic also turned to Islander romances, as one fan asked if her and Hugo Hammond could ever hit it off in a romantic way – following our report that Hugo and Liberty had a ‘secret chat’ in the villa.
Liberty was coupled up with Jake since the start of the show, but she allegedly had an ‘intimate chat’ with Hugo as she ‘explored her options’.
Hugo told Closer magazine that he had a chat with Lib when Jake pulled Millie for a talk – after the bombshell first entered the villa with Lucinda Strafford.
He said: “When I got back I spoke to my family and I said, ‘Oh did you see that Lib pulled me for a chat when Jake had a chat with Mills?’ and I don’t think it was shown, but me and Lib had a chat.”
Hugo’s fellow Islander Lucinda Strafford had asked: “She was exploring her options, wasn’t she?”, to which Hugo replied: “Yeah, I think so.”
However, in her Instagram Q&A, Liberty insisted that there was no romantic spark between her and former PE teacher Hugo.
Lib was asked: “I heard about that secret chat with Hugo, was there anything there?”
The stunner responded: “This ’intimate chat’, it was literally just me and Hugo sat down. I was like, ‘What do you do?’”
Lib explained Hugo returned the question to her, adding: “Blah blah blah. It was very much just friends, there was no sexual chemistry there between us.
“I love Hugo as a mate, but that’s all the chat was,”
