Line of Duty theory 'H' is a woman – and evidence Kate is the main villain

Line of Duty fans want to know one answer – who is the mysterious H?

Avid viewers of the hit BBC anti-corruption police drama have been waiting patiently until series six to discover the identity of the top dog police officer embroiled in organised crime.

And some eagled-eye armchair detectives believe they have sussed out who the super-villain really is.

DI Dot Cottan revealed the significance of the letter ‘H’ in his dying declaration during the explosive series three finale, which then led AC-12 to establish three of the four high ranking members of the police working in organised crime.

The bent villains that have already been exposed are Dot as The Caddy, ACC Derek Hilton and Senior Legal Counsel Gill Biggeloe, so one more remains to be rumbled.

But there could be another big surprise just around the corner – that H is in fact a woman.

And incredibly some fans believe former AC-12 officer Kate Fleming could even be part of the OCG.

The AC12 Glass Box live chat went into overdrive as to whether could have in fact playing her colleagues – and viewers – all this time.

One fan questioned: “Anyone else beginning to think Kate is bad news!?

“Ooh, are you posing the Kate is H theory, or is there another angle you’re thinking of?” replied the group host.

The final scene of episode five last night was bent PC Ryan Pilkington and Kate facing of, each pointing a gun at each other. There were two gunshots as the episode finished, so fans were left gripped who might have died.

The finger was pointed firmly at AC-12 boss, Supt Ted Hastings in the last series, unsurprisingly given his ominous surname and his questionable actions at times.

However, viewers are now convinced a women could be the last remaining member of the bent syndicate, with women fast-tracked into positions of power throughout the whole show.

During the hit series, women have replaced me in positions of power.

In series two, DCC Mike Dryden was sacked following a blackmail plot again him, with Andrea Wise taking over.

Lawyer Jill was discovered to be working with the OCG and tried to thwart many of AC-12’s investigations, while bent baddie Derek was replaced by DCI Roz Huntley in series 4.

And in series five, attention swung to hard-faced DCI Patricia Carmichael – who came back with a bang in last night’s gripping instalment.

Ted famously ranted: “That woman has been fast-tracked from day one.”

This series Jo Davison has just replaced Ian Buckles at Detective Superintendent after he was banged up for allegedly being corrupt.

Whatever theory you might have, viewers will have to wait until next Sunday night to discover the latest storyline as the plot thickens – and H is closer to being discovered.
